Welcome Back.Without any further delay, lets hit to our second session.
So What’s are your future plans?
ZwingLee: I am putting out Merchandise and an online store soon and a certain percentage of the profits will go towards the poor people residing in the hills in the state.
Any new albums that people should be excited about?
ZwingLee: Well a lot to say. I’ve been working since I put out my previous mixtape. I will put out a mixtape called, “LEGACY” and an EP later this year. Also, my dream project which I have been working with producer Kabir Jamatia will be coming soon that’s all I would say.
Are you going to collaborate with other artists? Or just solo albums?
ZwingLee: When the concept needs a particular artist, I will collaborate. I am not in a hurry to collaborate but yes, the work should be genuine and my kind of work.
What was the inspiration behind your song ‘Proshno’?
ZwingLee: Actually it was written against the entry of illegal immigrants. I have actually changed the chorus of the song and made it suit the scenario where the politicians are biased and never looked upon the people living in the hills. The people living in poverty and kids studying without electricity. Basically the Tripuris who are living a hard life. That was my inspiration.
Any songs that you regret making so far?
ZwingLee: None. Because the songs which are bad taught me how to not make a bad song.
What has been the biggest challenge that you faced so far?
ZwingLee: Saving up money and building my own studio booth. The challenge is ahead because I cannot make music if I have no source of income, and I have also thought about leaving music a lot of times because music is not enough to feed me and that’s the reason I got my MBA done as a subsidiary to music.
Do you plan on making only RAP songs?
ZwingLee: For now yes, because I am a rapper. But I would shake it up in a long run for a different taste.
Have you considered any other genre other than RAP?
ZwingLee: Not really but I do listen to almost every genre. That’s where you get variety.
How do you get people to take you seriously as a musician?
ZwingLee: I still think people do not take my music seriously.
What’s your song writing process?
I have mentioned earlier:
i. Get the Beat
ii. Get the Rhythm and Melody ready
iii. Write lyrics on the beat
vi. Listen to the record over and over again
vii. Send it to close friends from review
viii. If it is not perfect I improvise and repeat the process.
What do you hope to do with your music?
ZwingLee: Change the way people look at Tripuri Music. Let’s take it worldwide. Haha.. Most importantly teaching my people through my music.
What is the most difficult thing you had to endure so far in life?
ZwingLee: Making music since 2010 and having no one listening to my music till 2016.
What do you think your listeners will get out of your music?
Thank You very much, it was a pleasure having you.We wish you all the best for your upcoming mixtape & EP’s .
